I want to get certified in personal training... Is ISSA the best?

  #2

Define the best? I am Certified through ISSA and liked the material and all people I have met at seminar and everything. You are what sets you apart the knowledge that you learn and pass on. One is not necessarily better than the other. We are the most well known and just my thoughts. I am in process and getting my strength and conditioning cert now and has been awesome so far. Good Luck!

I took a personal training class this semester, but after doing it I saw it wasn't for me. Don't have the patience to deal with general populations.

According to our instructor he said ACSM and NASM are the most respected. However, they are the most extensive and expensive to get.

I have the ACE personal training cert. Passed the test by just studying the book. I've been training clients for 2 years now. Like anything, I've learned more by just doing it than from any book I've read. Also, Perform Better Training Summits are great for gaining real-world, practical PT knowledge and insights. Good luck man!

ACSM and NASM are by far the best in the industry and will open a lot of doors for you!

If you have a passion for fitness then passing the exam will be easy because you will truly enjoy learning everything.

ACE is good too, not as respected as ACSM or NASM, but its still requires work and is recognized widely. It's also cheaper too. You can also try for the ACSM fitness specialist, which is more money and harder, but it allows you more options than just personal training.

I guess I could use a google search to find out but what does a PT usually pull in these days?
